Whether to brave the elements while watching a game of baseball or just going out for a walk in the park during a particularly nifty evening, putting on a jacket is the most logical thing to do.

A jacket is a lightweight, thigh or waist-length coat that is worn by people of all ages and gender. While there are fashionable jackets, the primary reason for a wearing a jacket is its function as a protective clothing against harsh cold weather.

But, jackets carry a different meaning for baseball fans. They are not only fashion statements or a layer of clothing that assure warmth during cold season, they represent their adoration for a baseball team. When they don on this piece of protective clothing, they feel as if they are one with the team, the logo of which are mostly emblazoned on their backs or on the front panels of the jacket. Baseball fans feel a different kind of warmth, when they wear them; that has got nothing to do with the jackets’ materials. It is the warmth of pride, of showing to the world that they are avid fans of a particular team, especially one that has won over and over again to set a record.

Because of its hefty price of above $50 to above $200, there are limited Major League Baseball (MLB) jackets on sale especially on the net that features team logos or emblems. But what there are that are sold are really of the best quality and craftsmanship.

There are World Series Champion leather jackets that sell for over $200. These member jackets would make the wearer feel much more a part of the team he loves the most because it gives him the feeling of exclusivity and unity with the team. This leather jacket features quality embroidery and is made of 100 percent leather shell and 100 percent polyester filler and lining.

Another type of membership jacket sold is the varsity jacket that features leather patchwork, the body of which is made of 67 percent wool and 33 percent Viscose. Its sleeves are also made of 100 percent leather.

To keep the elements cornered so there would be no escape, there is the V-neck Staff Ace lightweight pull-over windshirt with tackle twill wordmark and made of 100 percent polyester.

Fully reversible jackets are also available. The full-zip medium weight polyester-filled jacket has a fleece and polyester shell and tackle twill logos.

If there are real leather jackets, there are also faux leather jackets, both for men and women. It is made of 95 percent Polyvinyl Chloride and 5 percent Polyurethane shell face.

Ladies official jackets are also available. These transform easily into a vest just by simply zipping off the sleeves from the shoulders. This full-zip, mid-weight jacket features quality embroidery and team color piping. It also has a bungee draw cord on the hemline, a mesh lining and is made of 100 percent polyester.
